Along with the red bull event this past weekend, we dropped our collaboration shirt with our san jose familia, breezy excursion. For those who remember, these shirts were originally designed for our 3 year anniversary but given the tie dye treatment for this limited run. You can see more of Jeffy and Ciera after the jump! (or if you want to grab it now, GO HERE!)
This Saturday, May 4th, our store location will be closed to support our riders during the Red Bull RIDE+STYLE at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco.
“Red Bull Ride + Style features fixed-gear riders facing off in both track and freestyle competitions, with the obstacles designed and decorated by iconic street artists. In the past, this event has brought together more than 50 riders from both coasts, including riders from such fixed-gear meccas as San Francisco, Portland, New York and even Japan.
Stay tuned for an updated list of confirmed riders for both freestyle and race competitions – as well as the four artists who will bring the course to life.
Riders interested in participating in the race portion of the Red Bull Ride + Style will have an opportunity to qualify. All freestyle riders will be invited directly by the competition director.” -Red Bull RIDE+STYLE Page
We are so hyped about this weekend’s Red Bull RiDE+Style FGFS event (Justin Herman Plaza, SF. 12pm-4pm). It’s been awesome seeing all the international riders from overseas make their way to the shop this past week. Both Simon Gomok and Oscar Khan have spent some time with us and these two guys are solid. It’s going to be great to see all the riders together in one place again.
Even though we weren’t able to directly sponsor this year’s RiDE+Style we will still be there in full force. We’ve got 9 of our riders competing in the actual event. We are just excited to see how much more everyone has progressed and how much further our sport has come in a year’s time.
Do not miss out on this event. We will be passing out some goodie/swag bags that will have some special discount offers. Come and find us to get yours. Keep your eye out for Team iMD this Saturday.
btw- Our shop will be closed this Saturday for this EPIC event.
This is going to be sick. A ton of our team riders are featured in this one so you already know it’s going to be full of killers. DO NOT MISS THIS.
We are stoked to be a part of the Red Bull RiDE + style for 2012. I’m sure you’ve seen the official press release at various sites online but if you haven’t, check it out below. This year is going to be even crazier then last year’s event. Be sure to save the date.
“Event to Once Again Combine Fixed Gear Biking and Urban Contemporary Art
Here’s some more coverage of last weekend’s RiDE+Style event from Slumworm and Jeffy D of Wheeltalk. The footage from this camera/lens combo is legit. Good work fellas!
Congrats to our very own Matt “Slumworm” Reyes for killing it on Saturday. With a field full of the best riders in our industry, Matt worked his way to the top of the podium to take home the $1000 cash prize and the coveted Red Bull RiDE+Style trophy. Congrats to Matt for taking top honors. 2011 is going to be a huge year for Matt and the Wheel Talk crew. Also, congrats to all those who placed and a huge thank you to all of you who came out to support. We are honored to have worked side by side with Red Bull and Oakley. This will definitely not be the last RiDE+Style event.

This past weekend, Lockedcog threw the first ever alley trick cat. iMiNUSD sponsored this event, amongst other including Eighth Inch, Lucky Lefty’s, Prolly, John Cardiel, and Red Bull. It’s awesome to see Kris and Brad of Lockedcog to throw an event like this, especially seeing the fixed-gear industry moving towards freestyle riding. Moreover, it’s no surprise that we would hear news of iMD team rider Taylor “Slaylor” Dwight doin’ damage at this event. Not to mention, Taylor took first place at all 5 stops of the trick cat!
